Dan is supposed to be alone, but Digby has stowed away secretly - there are a couple of scenes at this point in the story where the rifle can be seen.
Dan Dare Atomic Jet Gun - Mettoy (water pistol: 1952, 1 [jpeg] [box]) - The gun that appears in the comic and on the box looks more like the Atomic Jet Gun by Crescent [jpeg]. However, the gun in the strip may well have been originally modelled on the 1940's Atom Ray Gun by Hiller [jpeg].

Space Pilot Super-Sonic Gun - Merit (ray gun: 1950s, 1 [jpeg]) - not technically a Dan Dare product, but the handle of the gun has the "Inter Planet Space Fleet" inscription on it exactly the same as on the Merit Dan Dare Planet Gun and the Merit Dan Dare Rocket Gun (albeit with a different emblem above it), and the box has a picture that clearly shows Dan Dare (albeit with smoothed-off eyebrows and a very slightly altered space helmet) - eBay $304
